    Paid my "stupid tax". Is it over?

    As the title implies, I signed up for a one time 1.99 as an experiment. And guess what? Today, a month later, PayPal alerts me that they paid $9.95 to totaladblock on an automatic monthly subscription. I'll accept the $1.99 "stupid tax" for falling victim to gotcha capitalism. However, am I unsubscribed? I don't know. Right now, after clicking "cancel subscription", instead of automatically sending a cancellation verification, I was sent to "live chat" with AI, apparently, who sent me to an "agent" who just came on. will report back...OK, agent on after 30 minutes. Didn't verify.

    Instead, "let me check your acct". I asked, why is this happening? Why did I not get automatic receipt of cancellation when I clicked "cancel"...now he's asking for a reason, which I already provided (surprise 9.95 autopay charge). Want to know what "gotcha capitalism" and a wasted morning looks like? THIS. It still ain't over. Agent is refusing to send a simple receipt of cancellation, instead requesting a "WHY" from me. And he said he will send an email for me to start all over with the cancellation. I asked again, why can't you just verify that it's cancelled? That's what live chat is for. Instead, "new offers" kept popping up. I said "not even if its for free"....Finally, after a morning, another email came with a link to cancel (again).

    This time, after yet another offer, I clicked no, and got a confirmation. LESSON, don't clink any links from facebook or youtube. Instead, if you think you may be interested in an item that pops up, open a new browser, type in a website, read lots of reviews, and proceed if still interested. This was an experience that I had a very difficult time shaking. That's no way to live. If this review helps one person, then it would have been worth the time to write.

    What a nightmare - a service that doesn't work to block ads, and has zero customer service to help or cancel subscription. Website doesn't work to cancel online.
    Emailing [email protected] to request cancellation results in an automatic email directing you to go to the website and cancel. No chat. No phone #.
    I'm going to get my credit card to block them, because I don't think there's any other way to stop the monthly payments.

    I bought into that $1.99 deal also and then noticed I was being charged $9.95 for April, May and June so I called and said CANCEL my account. Got the ame offers for $7.95, then $5.95 and finally, $2.95. I said NO cancel and then came $1.99. I said CANCEL. I'll just have to wait and see if it did get cancelled but yes total ripoff. DON'T DO IT!!!

      I have called and cancelled my subscription every month, I'm constantly telling you not to take any more money out of my account, well right now totalblocker is trying to take $9.95 out of my account and I have no funds in my account to cover it but my bank is steady letting me know everytime you try running it through. I have cancelled AdBlocker and I don't know what's wrong with you people that you keep doing this every month,but do not take any money out of my account this month or any month! I'm not going to keep going through this hassle every month with you people so I'm telling you for the last time (don't touch my account, don't even try to attempt to touch my account, my account is OFF limits to you and this is the last time I'm going to tell you! If it happens again I will turn it over to the Attorney General!!!

    Prevented access to legitimate websites and then close to impossible to cancel the recurring payment as cancel links and codes don’t work, no phone or email contact, and the support chat makes you wait an inordinate amount of time.

      Yes I tried the $1.99 version and I too got scammed into unauthorized monthly auto payments. Useless PayPal would not refund new unauthorized payment. I cancelled auto payment. What a scam. And above all this, It does not work. Read all the real reviews before falling for this.

    Don't download the free trial app because Total AdBlock actually becomes a CONTINUAL pop-up ad.
    Exactly what they claim to get rid of. Terrible behavior for a company and that is why I definitely would not become a customer.

      it appeared during a computer game I was playing and I could not click it away. I've never accepted it, never wanted it, and have never paid a cent. There seems to be no way on earth to remove it, I even did a 'wayback' process, and it just overrode even that.
      I can play through it, and when it comes on I click it off, but there seems to be no way to make it let go.

    Contacted Billing to cancel my service and get a refund per the Customer Satisfaction Guarantee.
    Billing would not respond nor would they give me the Help center phone number. Multiple requests, they finally close the case without assistance or refund. VERY HARD TO DEAL WITH11

    Avoid this like the plague. I accept it is my stupidity . I thought it was worth risking £29 to take ads off . I then came up saying make it £39 which I just thought was an extra £10. In the summary I saw that both were there so I did not complete the purchase and logged out. However, the sums were taken which I noticed a few days later. I then got an email asking me to download it which I did but three weeks later , it is completely ineffective.

    Companies like these should be closed down and directors imprisoned. No chance of that however when we have a Government of criminals who probably regard this as enterprise.

    Some time ago, I responded to an AdBlock information offer. I didn't get right away, but began to notice a number of disgusting ads popping up, especially one with hairy noses. Then, recently, I signed up for a $29 introductory notice. The ads went away. Then I notice that I two additional $39 AdBlock
    "purchases". I cancelled everything. Just now I find that the hairy nose ads are back. In my opinion, AdBlock is not a scam it's a racket!

    I started to sign up but stopped when my wife read me their terrible reviews. They signed me up anyway and it is nearly impossible to cancel them. And. I have completely ne types of ads showing up on my phone now. This is a major SCAM and they should be shut down with their management Sent to prison. I would give ZERO STARS if I had that option. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT SIGNING UP.

      I don't know why the Attorney General doesn't start an investigation on this company. if you tell them to cancel your subscription, then by law they have to cancel it. And your bank or credit union should stop paying them every month. All you need to do is have a new card issued and it can have the same 16 digits but you will have a new 3 digit security code and then they can no longer charge your card. I hate scammers like thisvand I would think that web hosting site would pull there ad but they probably get their palms greased for hosting it.

    Could not find how to cancel on their webpage. Sent two emails to cancel my subscription. Annual revewal fee of 165.00 cad was initially blocked by my credit card company. Yet they charge again. Can't understand why a company like that can still operate.

    Unsolicited Subscription

    An unsolicited subscription charge for a product I never heard of called TOTAL AV was charged to my Pay/Pal account. I called Pay/Pal customer service and told them I never asked for this service and told them to take the charge off of my account. Pay/Pal sent me an email that they investigated the matter and stated that TOTAL AV submitted proof that I ordered their "product". I also informed Pay/Pal that no product was ever delivered. When I demanded that Pay/Pal show me the "proof" they were unable to produce any proof of purchase. After several weeks of customer service calls Pay/Pal finally greed to take the charge off of my account. Two days later another unsolicited charge came on my account called TOTAL AD BLOCK. It was the same story from the same internet criminals all over again with Pay/Pal insisting that I ordered the product This time it took close to a month of calls to Pay/Pal customer service and the charge was removed. I cancelled my Pay/Pal account shortly after that.

    Total Adblock doesn't work the way it's advertised. Furthermore, it's disheartening to celebrities advertising this product. Which goes to show money means everything to them. They are taking part in known scam. Total Adblock is ruthless, getting well known celebrities to endorse a product that doesn't work and is almost impossible to cancel. It also shows the how malicious Meta is as they heavily advertise this on both Facebook and Instagram. Instead of paying celebrities to advertise a product that doesn't work why not spend what you pay the celebrities to hire effective programmers to fix the product and make it work. It seems operating a legitimate business is a thing of the past.

    I have tried to cancel this service 4 times!!! The latest was May 1, 2023...this started 2 years ago. when, I not knowing any better, sign up for the service. consequently, for 2 years, I've called them to cancel and refund!!
    customer service is NONEXISTENT! CHAT IS IS JUST AS USELESS!@!# IF you want total frustration in your life ...go for it!! Otherwise stay far far away from them. Additionally, it never did it's job...to BLOCK ADS.

    Responded to an offer of Total Adblock for £1.99 and paid by Paypal then discovered I had signed up for 12 months £10 per month for next 11 months. No mention of this in the pages I responded to. I have spent 3 hours trying to cancel this subscription. Total waste of my time. The app didn't work either!

    For two solid days now, I've been trying to get my Total Adblock to work. Theirs is the most disorganized and worthless website I've EVER been on! You subscribe to JUST blocking ads, and all of a sudden you are charged for everything they offer! If you send one message, you can't send a second one! Two different senior chat agents told me completely contradictory information. This company is a SCAM so I disputed my charges with my financial institution and filed a complaint with the BBB AFTER deleting the stupid app. FRAUD is illegal and this company is definitely fraudulent. Sending me 21 emails in 2 days is absurd. All emails are now directed into SPAM! Do NOT do business with this sham "company"!

      I never signed up for it, it just appeared on my computer and when I clicked it away it just bounced right back. I tried everything, from using the wayback program to cursing roundly, but it just cheerily continues to flash me when i enter the computer. All I can do is outwait it, I guess.

    It's clear that if a customer opts not to purchase your service, they should not require any reminders that can be utterly annoying. Please don't bother me with your pleadings to your other customers after uninstalling Easy or even SIMPLE. Is that too much? This sector is given a terrible name. It is among the most embarrassing examples of poor technological corporate behavior. Get your act together.

    Like many others, I was bombarded with the same sales pitches using various methods. More offensive than the tactics they employ is that they show up here and attempt to solve your issues generically but do not do anything to address the problems. The people here have invested the time and money needed to fix issues caused by the company but continue to spread mistrust among anyone looking into their business. They are not very smart. I'm unsure how they manage to have a four-star rating on their site. It could be that they're paying reviewers for good reviews.

    The application has caused my continuous payments for an extended period, and I've tried several times to fix it. It was my last chance to remove the app's incompetence through my bank filing claims, resulting in the cancellation and renewal of my credit card. My experience with Adblock was a complete disaster. The program never stopped ads. Be cautious when you purchase it. This hasn't worked before; other than accepting my payment, I have never had it work!!

    I thought that it was a once-buy application. The thing I discovered was the recurring fee per month. The numerous welcome emails (sent from an individual known as Sarah) to end service go to a mailer that's not being monitored, as I haven't received any responses. I have never created an account online for downloading the software. However, they started charging me for the service. Contacting the (overseas) Customer Service department eventually resolved the issue of canceling, and they said they'd reverse the monthly charge. You must sign up with full knowledge of the service and the recurring month-long account.

    I did not wish to rate it at all but to get this review through I had to. You need to be able to mark a zero on these things as I wished to rate it a minus!!
    I cancelled my subscription last year as it did not do 'what it said on the tine'! I had an email saying it was cancelled. Now they have started taking money from my account again. Despite emailing them on numerous occasions saying this has been cancelled they insist that I contact a department to GET IT CANCELLED. If they take money from my account in March I will seriously lose it. It never worked in any case, I still got ads, probably more.

    I first applied for the accessible version of total adblock went back into the web /internet ads still coming thru, so used for the $19, then the $29, and the $39 because none of the ads were being blocked didn't realize they were still taking the money for each application altho adds were not being blocked now they don't recognize my email when I'm trying to contact them anyone knows the secret to contact them

    Total Adblock is a scam! It doesn’t work at all. It promises adblocking ‘across all websites’ but after I downloaded the app, it said ‘for Safari’. I’m using Firefox and hotmail, and nothing got blocked. Caveat emptor: although I subscribed to the ‘special offer’ their site inserted an annual auto-renewing subscription of around 5 times that. I went into my ipad Settings and deleted that. I wasn’t able to reach Total Adblock to refund my charge, either: their ‘customer service’ email server is rejecting incoming messages. Don’t go anywhere near this rubbish! And read other reviews.

    After installing software nothing would open in Safari. Contacted support and I was Told to click allow sites and enter the sites I want to access. Ridiculous. After 30 minutes of canned responses that did not address my request to cancel my subscription I was Told I would receive an email confirming my request. Never received the email. In my original subscription confirmation email, these instructions to cancel were included:

    1. I should have mentioned that I started the Chat after exhausting over three days all other methods of contacting Total AdBlock (hereafter referred to as "The ScumBags.")

    3. Chrome's Adblock is called just that: AdBlock. AdBlock is NOT Total AdBlock, and AdBlock has served me well for many, many years.

    I canceled this service last October after not being able to get it to work and are still getting charged 9.95 a month and I can't get anyone to help me now. I wish I would have known this was a scam. International even. I am contacting my credit card company. The FTC and Facebook to report them.

    This product is a total scam. It does not work.

    They say there is a money back guarantee. They ask you not to block them on your PayPal account so that they can refund monies. However, they just keep on charging you month after month. They are scammers.

    DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!
    I bit on this scam and purchased a $1.99 subscription to try the service. It all sounded like a very good idea. Because ad pop ups are very annoying. But after installing and trying to use the service, the pop ups were worse. On the second day I couldn’t red my news, so I tried to cancel the subscription. Boy what a dog and pony show that was. THEY DO NOT WANT TO LET YOU OUT! They finally sent a link to my email so I could cancel. I couldn’t open the link because it froze my phone. I finally had to shut down my phone and restart to open any email. The first thing in the link was”we hate to see you leave, and if you’ll stay we will offer you a years subscription for $2.99 a savings of $298.00. Ha ha. I said forget it. I hope I have been canceled. Only time will tell.

      you dint contact your credit card company to stop the charges you contact the payment processor hired by the app to charge the debit card. you also need to use a prepaid debit card and once the 7 day trip begins you've got 3-4 days maximum to cancel the card or issue an "cease and desist" order that's been notarized . send these electronically to both the payment processor and the app's administration. you must be diligent but if you have a Walmart debit card without a bank account attached to it then you just cancel the card as stolen. if you want it replaced and get a new card & account number.

    Tried to Cancel my Adblock it took me 3/4 of a day running in circles do it
    As there system is set up that way to make it confusing and hard to find contact information
    I finally messaged people online and cancelled
    Months later I’m being billed again
