About P.C. Richard & Son
P.C. Richard & Son, often known as P.C. Richard, is the most significant family-owned appliance, electronics, and mattress retail chain in the U.S., with 66 stores primarily in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. The company, known for its trademark whistle jingle used by the New York Yankees and Long Island Ducks, was founded in 1909 by Pieter Christian Richard in Brooklyn, New York. Alfred J. Richard (A.J.), born a month after the store opened, significantly contributed to the company's growth, leading the expansion into Long Island when he became president in 1947. The business remains family-run, now overseen by the fourth generation of the Richard family. The company expanded to New Jersey in 1993 and added 15 new showrooms between 1995 and 2003. It entered Connecticut in 2009 and Pennsylvania in 2010 and added mattresses to its inventory in 2014. P.C. Richard & Son also has a Builders Division for bulk purchases by builders and extensive facilities. They are the official retailer of several sports teams and venues, including the New York Yankees and Barclays Center.
Their policies are terrible, and so is their customer support.
I bought an HotPoint Dryer from P.C. Richards. It was about $900 for delivery, installation, and then taking away the old model. Two technicians said the dryer was simple, it's not a high-quality dryer, and you will be getting the value you spend for. I've been talking to GG Appliance and PC Richards, but they told me I could not exchange my dryer today. I told them I'd purchase an upgrade. I'm unhappy with this model and would prefer a higher-end dryer. However, I was not told. In the last month, I've wasted my time and money using this dryer (that isn't drying clothes!). I'm entirely dissatisfied and will never buy any items at PC Richards again, and will like everyone else; I will avoid PC Richards. Their policies are terrible, and so is their customer support.
