I booked a rental car in Mexico City for 3 weeks via RentCars.com. A Volkswagen Passat or similar. FireFly (Hertz) gave us a MG5 at Mexico City Airport: a smaller and less comfortable car. After our holiday I asked RentCars.com after-sales if my reservation was correctly handled by FireFly. In my opinion is a MG5 not a similar car as a Volkswagen Passat. RentCars.com confirmed my suspicions: a MG5 it is not the premium G-class car (they confirmed it by email!). So I asked them to compensate the difference. They made contact with FireFly again to discuss this situation. Finally they told me that Firefly did the right thing: MG5 is a premium, G-class car in line with my reservation. So no compensation can be paid. RentCars.com is wrong in this case: they promised me a Volkswagen Passat or similar. FireFly just handled correctly, but the expectation RentCars.com raised to me at their website is not correct. RentCars.com refuses to take the blame and refused to compensate me. Watch out for the cars they present at their website in relation to the actual rental-company (in this case FireFly/Hertz)! Check the the rental-company website directly or book a car directly by not using RentCars.com.
Costly and hidden charges like Insurance

We were disappointed with our last rental experience, which included Routes, in Denver, Colorado, in April 2023. The car we were provided was an older vehicle with plates from 2021 (fortunately, we were not ticketed or stopped). The car was dirty at the time we picked it up. A chip was found on the windshield, and wipers with rubber flapping were utterly useless in the mountains with the wet, snowy roads. The air was put on the back tire twice over five days of rest. It appeared that the vehicle was owned by an employee and not the typical car of the rental business.

We made a reservation for 10 pm for pick-up, but the car rental facility shut down at 10 am. When we got to the location to pick up our car, the rental firm (Routes Car Rentals) canceled our reservation, so we're out $150, which we paid for. We were charged $62 to travel to the hotel, and the following day, we took an Uber to the vehicle rental, and they claimed they didn't have any cars available and could not assist us in any way. We ended up hiring the car from another rental service for $486. How can you make our reservation? I made an appointment at tat10 pm when the car rental was closed. I want my $150 back to me. Other, wise this is a fraud.

I tried booking online but could not. The website repeatedly white-screened/crashed during payment. We tried to contact them, but there is no support staff; I tried the chatbot, but it says there will be a call. Who!! Support isn't operated! Consent is not available! The website also doesn't have vital details for hiring cars. So, now you need to call the actual rental company. There is a lot to improve, and I wouldn't recommend it again.

The rental company did not reveal additional charges. I was offered "insurance" at $12 a day, which the rental company refused to take. I made a payment online, $106, with $50 due at pickup time. The rental company informed me $170.00 and an initial $500 deposit were due. The agent who rented the car offered me a transfer back to the airport. He told me about the incorrect information Rentcars provides and then asked the agent to clean it up. I'm stuck at LAX without a car and my $106. Thanx

They provided us with a terrible service in changing the unit. The car displayed "oil engine check required," and the brakes made a vast noise; the service tag indicated that the service was required 5,000 miles before we were required to return the car for a change. I would never use Europcar in the future.

Re your reply to your question: it's not true. Rentcars offered a low price for Cancun. When I went to pick up the car, the price was 2.5x more because of the unannounced liability insurance. Instead of the vehicle I had booked, I was offered an old, shabby car. Terrible. If I renounced the liability insurance, they stated I'd need to provide $3000 in bond. Rentcars, you must keep track of these things and educate your customers before they decide to work with you. The SUV thing was, in essence, a scam to market.

This is a complete fraud. They don't have a customer support number if you don't live in Brazil. There is no easy way to get in touch with them. They are using bait-and-switch strategies. Beware of them at all times.

I've been trying to contact this company for the past six days. We booked a vehicle and paid the total amount stated on the voucher. We arrived at the Priceless car rental facility. We were told that we did not pay fully, were owed another 200 dollars, and had 487 bucks for insurance.
Otherwise, we were unable to get the car we had already bought. Priceless claimed it was a rental cars issue because they don't offer their prices correctly, and insurance is not an option.
Our own worldwide rental car insurance, but it wasn't accepted. Please could someone get in touch with me since we were not capable of picking up the vehicle we paid for?
