   Johnson & Johnson's Vaccine is more effective against mRNA-based counterparts

   The nearly 17 million Americans who have received Johnson and Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine were warned for over an entire year that it's the least effective vaccine available throughout the U.S... Still, new evidence suggests that that might not be the case.

   The most recent CDC information was released last updated January. 22nd suggests that Johnson and Johnson's vaccine may be more protected than its counterparts in mRNA.

   The results show that unvaccinated individuals were 3.2 times more likely to contract COVID-19 than those who received Johnson and Johnson's single-dose vaccine.

   At the same time, the latter were 2.8 times more likely to contract COVID-19 compared to people who had two doses of Moderna's vaccine. It was 2.4 times more likely than people who had two doses of the vaccine from Pfizer.

   "This vaccine platform may have some surprising characteristics we hadn't anticipated." Larry Corey, MD, an expert in vaccines at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, said in that to the New York Times.

   Larry Corey claimed that the latest data are "interesting, provocative, and we should spend more time understanding it."
